Interactions

Pharmacogenomic + mechanism interactions2 edges
Pharmacogenomic guideline recommendationsCPIC and Dutch Pharmacogenetics Working Group clinical guidelines
Variant:hla-b 1502 pos contraindication CPIC A 90 / 100
CPIC rec 8094683 [Strong]: If patient is oxcarbazepine-naïve, do not use oxcarbazepine. CPIC pair-level A (HLA-A, HLA-B and Carbamazepine and Oxcarbazepine) [PMID 29392710]
Variant:hla-b 1502 pos risk hypersensitivity CPIC A 20 / 100
CPIC rec 8094685 [Optional]: The latency period for drug-induced SJS/TEN is short with continuous dosing and adherence to therapy (~4-28 days), and cases usually occur within three months of dosing; therefore, if the patient has previously used oxcarbazepine consistently for longer than three months without incidence of cutaneous adverse reactions, cautiously consider use of oxcarbazepine in the future. CPIC pair-level A (HLA-A, HLA-B and Carbamazepine and Oxcarbazepine) [PMID 29392710]
